Chapter 5 – Party Time
“Suzieee!” shouts Daniel “Where is my backpack?” Suzie replies, “The last I saw
your backpack it was in the store room.”
“Urghhh… it must have gotten dirty. And yes Suzie, don’t you remember anything –
as in what’s today?”
“Daniel, it’s a Monday. Oh, and also the last day of school! Wohooo!” Shouts Suzie
dancing back to her room.
“Nobody remembers this precious day, not even Suz!”
Suzie is speaking on the phone in her room, “Hey Kelly, hope you remember the
plan. Please be there on time. Remind everyone else too. My parents have told me
to keep it a complete secret and not tell Daniel about it, otherwise she would deny.
Bye!”
Suzie goes out in the main room and sees Danny sitting on the sofa, with her hands
on her chin and a sad face. Suzie grins to herself and immediately pretends to be
tensed, while approaching Danny.
“What’s wrong Danny?”
“Just go Suzie! I am not talking to you. You don’t even know that it’s m…”
The bell rings. Suzie says to Danny, “go inside people may ask why you are
crying.” As soon as Daniel goes, Suzie opens the door to see Clara, Kelly, Hannah,
Sunny and the whole gang of friends. They switch the lights off and Suzie shouts,
“Dannyyy!! The lights aahh!” Daniel comes out running and all of a sudden, they
switch the lights on throwing balloons and streamers all around singing ‘Happy
Birthday Daniel’.
Danny is surprised and touched. She gets tears in her eyes and hugs Suzie. Suzie
says to her, “Happy Birthday to the best sister. You really thought I would forget
YOUR birthday? And yes, the batch of surprises isn’t over just yet. A huge surprise
awaits you.” Wiping her tears Danny asks, “What more could I want?”
Someone covers Danny’s eyes from behind. She gets startled and confused so
touches the hands to guess who it could be. Suddenly, her eyes are open and she
turns and sees her parents waiting to hug her. Danny hugs them both. She says to
Suzie, “Who are you! You didn’t even let me get the smallest hint of this huge
birthday bash. Thanks for this amazing sweet 16. It couldn’t be better.”
Everyone enjoys the evening together and Suzie and Daniel are happy because
their parents are going to stay with them for a year and a half. The ends with
partying, dancing and laughing together.
